Visa Information

Those Foreign Nationals who wish to come to any of the Indian states including Bihar are required to have a valid passport of their country along with a valid Indian Visa.

Tourists must note that there is no provision of 'Visa on Arrival' in India. One must also note that there is not any fee charged for immigration facilities at the airports. Therefore, it is the duty of the foreign passengers that they must ensure the possession of valid Indian Visa before they plan to visit India.

However, the rule does not apply on the Nepal and Bhutan nationals. It also stretches to the nationals of Maldives. However, the stay should not be more than 90 days.

The responsibility of issuing of the Visa vests with the Consular Passport and Visa (CPV) Division of the Ministry of External Affairs. One must cite the purpose of the visit to get the valid visa to visit India. The facility of issuing of a Visa is granted through various Indian missions abroad.

Tourists must note that any of the formalities in connection with the Visa must be undertaken thoroughly to avoid any traveling hassles. Visa fees are non-refundable. It is also subject to change without notice. The right to reserve the Visa to an individual rests with the High Commission.

Granting of Visa does not confer the right of entry to India and is subject to the discretion of the Immigration Authorities.
